Unity API & EyeCallback

Is there a technique for modifying objects in a Unity scene in the EyeCallback?

I want to rotate an object as soon as a saccade -- a rapid eye movement with temporary blindness -- is detected. But, Unity does not allow access to object's transforms outside of the main thread. I tried adding creating a boolean that is set to 'true' when a saccade is detected, then triggering the rotation in Update based on the boolean. This doesn't appear appropriate because the rotations are very noticeable. I didn't find any solutions after some searching on Google / Stack Overflow, even though there is a lot of information about threading, coroutines, etc.. Could someone direct me to or advise a reasonable solution?
