Recommended Posts

@DustProductions
Can you try follow my steps below to see if it recovers?

1. Opens up CMD with admin right "sc delete SRanipalService"
2. Delete 3 registry from regedit
     \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VIVE\SRWorks\
     \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VIVE\SRWorks\
     \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SranipalService\

3. Delete all files under C:\Program Files\VIVE\SRanipal
4. reinstall SRAnipal

This worked for me.  I was able to "repair" SRanipal and get it installed.  Thanks!

@C.T.Thanks for the response, however I am using the Vive Pro eye for collecting eye-data which needs the SR_Runtime. When I go to steam for the vive console, it says I already have it in my steam library but I still dont see SR_runtime. Apologies if I am missing something in plain sight but this is my first time working with a VR headset and eye-tracking data

We are now including all SRAnipal related software if you just install Vive Console.

Disregard my previous message, I was able to find the SR_runtime. it was in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\VIVEDriver\App\SRanipal

When I run the eye-calibration through this folder however, it fails saying this application has stopped runtime in an unusual way - please contact support.

@krpatil Try right clicking SRAnipal and running as administrator. The way the permissions interact with windows can be tricky - if you run it on a native admin account, it generally works best.

@Bipul Pro Eye doesn't have a version of the SR Anipal runtime compiled for linux. We're only licensed for Windows.

The SRAnipal Runtime is a licensed wrapped version of a subset of Tobii's Runtime - you can also license Tobbi's SDK/runtime directly and get more features and tools. The Tobii Pro SDK seems to have a Umbuntu linux version - I'm not sure if this would work with Pro Eye and might recommend contacting Tobii to see if either their Pro SDK or their Tobii XR SDK will support Pro Eye on Linux.

That fixed my problems with non-functional SRanipal service and problems with reinstalling it. Do not forget to active eye-tracking afterwards in the Eyetracking plugin in the SteamVR dashboard. It will be disabled again.

Thanks a lot!!
