Vive wireless adapter disconnects after a few minutes.

Recommended Posts

It goes completley black and the headset loses video and audio. This started happening today.  I thought it was a usb cable issue because I thought i noticed it happening when I would slightly jiggle the battery, but it seems it be happening when everything is perfectly still as well. The wireless adapter was purchased through newegg on preorder.  I can get it to come back up after disconnecting the battery and restarting the wirless connection. It stays on for a few minutes then goes off again.

Now I just tested it again and I think it may be the cables from the adapter to the headset because as soon as I lifted the DAC part to put the headset on it shut off again. This was a common problem with the tpcast cables.

Tried swtichign the USB. Still does not work. Works tethered perfectly fine.  Super frustrated.

My problem has been similar from day one of installing the wireless.  After a couple of minutes the headset goes black, I hear my PC losing the device and then refinding it, the headset comes back and works fine until the end of the VR session.  New VR session, same thing happens again.  The period of time before it goes out has seemingly become shorter after the various software and firmware updates but still happens every time

After replacing the 3 in 1 cable with the original and talking with tech support they decided to create a repair ticket for the adapter.  I will update here if you guys like.

I'll throw my hat in the ring as someone with the same issue. I had the TPCast as well, on a completely different PC, and experienced the same problem, which leads to believe that either know one knows why it happens, or it's a problem in SteamVR that either Valve can't fix, or doesn't wish to fix. I can't image they don't have the HTC Vive wireless adapter, or the TPCast, in-house, and haven't experienced this.

Edit: BTW, the error code I see in the SteamVR report is always "displaylink: STATUSCODE_24." I've searched online, but nothing so far.

I'm getting the same issue, same behavior, same displaylink STATUSCODE_24 error.

Has anyone in this thread had any luck getting this to stop happening?
