Shaking image in HMD

When standing still, the image is visibly shaking. I can see up close objects and menus shaking. 4.4m playspace with base stations 6.6m apart and mounted tight to the wall studs. There are no reflective objects. Sync cable with B-C mode. Tried USB 3.0 and 2.0. This is the 2nd computer that had this problem. i7 8700K, 1080 Ti, 32GB 3200 DDR4. I've tried everything. Please, help.

As you've probably already guessed, the two main reasons you'd see shaking are environmental or base stations that aren't firmly mounted. Could you please send photographs of your play space? If possible, also try reducing your tracking space to test.

Since you used two different computers already I think it's safe to say that it's not a software problem and your PC specs are very good so that's not the issue either.

The TV screen is never facing the playspace. Even the recessed light bulbs are covered. The base stations couldn't be any tighter. They had one mount each from April 2016 until Dec 2017, when I added a 2nd mount to each in hopes that it would decrease vibrations. Tracking of controllers and games isn't an issue other than this close up menu/object shaking issue. If I'm in a car or cockpit in-game, I can see it shaking. There's ductwork in that lower part of the ceiling, but the shaking still occurs when there's no air on.

Can you take them down and test them just sitting on a desk or something on the ground? Just to rule out the walls shaking for whatever reason. I agree that reflection is almost certainly not the issue, given the images of your room. (Looks like a great play space, actually!)

1. Do you have updates for Base Station, Controlers?

2. Vibration from the street?

3. Vibrating motor in the base station? Touch the station by hand.

 

The larger area = the greater vibration error .

Perform a new calibration.

3. The closer I am to the base stations, the less shaking. The closer to the center I am, the more shaking. I don't want to have to make my playspace smaller. People with larger playspaces have said they don't have this issue. I'll do anything to fix this without sacrificing space. I bought this house partly for Vive space. Do 2.0 base stations fix this issue? If so, I'd buy them for over a grand.

Hard to say, maybe people from HTC will know. I'm not a specialist, just thinking.

When the base station sees the other base station, do not need a sync cable.

1. Powered USB extension cable

 

Then replace base station.
