  1. Hello guys. I'm asking for your assistance for choosing a laptop to develop VR (HTC VIVEPro) simple games in unity. just for your information, VivePro supports only and only display port. the laptop I am looking for, must not only satisfy a display port 1.2+, but also the port defined for this purpose must be wired to GPU. thank you in advance.
  2. I have recently received a htc cosmos and I tried to connect it to my laptop, a Dell XPS 15 7590. Problem is that the laptop does not recognize the monitor and I keep getting error 208 (headset detected over usb but monitor not connected). I think the problem is that because the usb port in which the DisplayPort cable is plugged in is not connected to the DGPU. Beyond this, my DGPU itself is not all that great, a GTX1650. So I am thinking of buying an eGPU to not waste the headset 😞 Have yall ever tried a to run a htc with eGPU? Will it even work? If it does, any recommendations? I know a laptop is not great for VR setup, but I'm trying to make do with my situation. And since an eGPU is not too cheap, I really hope to do this right. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I really would appreciate any help! My PhysX Configuration:
  3. Hey, I want to ask about how can I connect the vive cosmos to asus fx 504. It haven't Dp or type c port. Can I just use some adapter like: https://www.amazon.se/dp/B018AX3HJO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YHbOFb606XKZ0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And turn the type C again to other interface, maybe to type A or something. I think the configuration list for FX 504 is here: https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ASUS-TUF-Gaming-FX504/
  4. I got the vive cosmos without realizing it required a dp/mdp connection. My laptop does not have either port connection on it (I know, I was surprised to realize it myself since it's fairly new). I also understand that an HDMI to dp adapter would not support the system. I was wondering if using an external video card with a dp connection available would be a viable option and if so could you give me a recommendation for said card that would handle most games available (I have a feeling my GTX 1650 card might not quite cut it). I'd really hate to have to return the VR set but if I have nothing that can run it then that's where I'm at. Specs for reference: System Manufacturer ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. System Model ROG Strix G531GT_G531GT Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2592 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 USB Port Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft) If you need more info please let me know, the above just seemed the most relevant.
  5. I have recently purchased a VIVE PRO with the wireless adapter. I have a 32 g ram, nvidia 1080 card, running windows 10. I've got everything working except I get this compositor is not available error 400. the vive wireless box syncs up and says ready steam recognizes the headset but say NOT READY. Any help would be great.
