I am pretty sure that all VP2 headsets have this "vertical lines" issue and that is why HTC is silent.

Yes, it is a hardware problem of every LCD, but HTC does not have it under control.

I have had 2 HTC Vive Pro 2 headsets and 1 HTC Vive Focus 3. I can see this problem on all 3 headsets more or less.

I have returned the other HTC Vive Pro 2 and the HTC Vive Focus 3, they are already refunded.

I have only a problem with return and refunding the headset, which i directly bought from HTC.

The HTC Vive Focus 3 has a big advantage over the VP2, you would not hear any static noise of the speakers, the fan is much to loud:-(

If you do have concerns on your devices, please contact customer care to open up a support ticket for your options.

Hello C.T. open a support ticket is useless, i am still waiting for a final answer to my two open support tickets.

A written confirmation of return and refund of my HTC Vive Pro 2 headset is completely ignored.

I have opened a support ticket because of this failure, i send pictures to demonstrate this failure. I get no answer to this failure from your support team.

I opened a support ticket to return and refund this headset, because of this and other failures. Your support team agreed the return and refund. I send the headset back to you. Next I get the headset back without any answers to my reminded hardware and software failures. Now I waiting since friday for an answer of your support team how we will proceed.

    Thank you very much.

  4. @Aragorn 76 Yes i still have this headset, the return of my return arrived yesterday. I am in contact with the HTC support to clear this problem very soon. I had made 2 support tickets, the first because of the display issue and a few days later the second for returning and refunding the headset. I think it is only a lack of communication between the HTC repair team and the HTC support team.

  5. Hello,

my VP2 also came back from HTC Romania with no word about this hardware failure.

I had an agreement with the htc support for full refund, but they returned it nevertheless.

I have also send the 2 pictures below to the support, to show the failure. These are two frames of a handy video. It´s difficult to make a picture of this failure, so thefailure is only seen in the middle of the picture, when you zoom in. The left and right side of the pictures are to blurry to show the failure, but it is noticeable on the whole screen, with my own eyes.

  6. You can get additional PCIE slots with an adapter from m.2 PCIE to PCIE slot. You can search for „m.2 pcie mining adapter“.

I have a pc with mini itx board with only one pcie slot. The HTC Wireless Adapter works with such an adapter. Only the placement is a bit tricky, i have to place it outside the pc housing.

So i returned my Pro 2 two weeks ago because of this: constant buzzing on both sides of the headphones.

I got an answer by Vive today, telling me that the perceived buzzing/humming noise is "within specification" and will therefore not be fixed and they'll send me the device back.

I'm disappointed by Vive. I really liked the device but this really annoys me. There is nothing you can do about it other that to  accept it or switch to the competition.

So HTC then please show me your audio specification, I did not see anything in the manual or on your website.

I could only find this on your product page:

    „Submerge in high-quality sound.

Hear VR environments the way they're meant to be heard. With 3D spatial sound integration and a powerful amplifier, the Hi-Res certified headphones deliver immersive soundscapes that will change your world.“

There is no note about an annoying buzzing sound that have to be accepted by your customers.

  8. Yes, turning off the headset with the power button of the link box is only a workaround.

It does not fix this major hardware/software problem, that the headset is not properly shutdown, when it doesn‘t sit on your head.

Overheating the liquid crystal fluid and also wrong display control timing or voltages can degrade LCDs permanently.
