Nevermind, I got it working by closing all the SRWorks plugins open in the background and letting Unity run the plugin once you play the scene.

Hello, can I ask you to explain with more details how you got it working? I am having the same exact issue: it was working yesterday, today I opened Unity and tried to run the Demo scene in the SRWorks Experience folder and the SRWorks plugin is failing to initialize. That would be really helpful, thanks. Marco
