  1. Too bad, so sad mate. Just keep your eye out for more sales in the future. Not sure if this one will be repeated again but you never know. Cheers.
  2. @A-Jey Thanks for that mate. I was not sure if this could be added to our current subs. Worked fine and now I'm good until Aug 2022, lol! Thanks again and cheers.
  3. @SupriyaRaul No, sorry but that will not work. Not enough bandwidth. You are probably best to find a VR headset that uses hdmi like OG Vive, and most WMR headsets imho.
  4. @caracer13 With the Vive Pro you need external base stations. If you do not already have these you can buy the Vive Pro full kit w/2.0 base stations/controllers. I have this and it works great with all my flight and racing sims. The Cosmos (not the Elite version) does not need external base stations because it uses inside-out tracking like WMR and Rift S headsets. I also have this Cosmos and while the tracking in some games still needs improving, it's perfectly fine for flight and racing sims because you are normally using external controls like yokes and wheels. The picture colours and clarity is slightly better than the Pro but the Pro's oled screens are a bit nicer in games/sims with darkish environments. The Cosmos (original, not new Elite which uses base stations) would be great for racing sims imho. It would also be a lot less expensive than a Vive Pro full kit and because there are no external base stations, it is quite a bit easier to setup and move locations later.
  5. @laggy vive user Ya, I thought it was kinda funny, hence the lol! Almost rogl! Sorry if you took offence. I must have a sick sense of humour.
  6. Ok, I won’t share the secrets of how to get better VR performance from your AW laptop, lol!
  7. SMT or Hyper threading off should not have much impact with current win10 versions/updates imho..
  8. Firmware updates on my 2x 2.0 base stations went smoothly via SteamVR bluetooth. Are you updating with bluetooth or wired? Are both of your 1.0 base stations having a problem, or mainly just one? Are you using a sync cable? Always a possibility that one or both of your original base stations has worn out. You can probably pick up spare 1.0's on Ebay for ~$80-100 each. Maybe less if you bought in pairs. Of course your first stop (which you have probably already done) is to read the online support manual(s) including their troubleshooter section. Next, in case you have not done this, is to contact Vive support and ask them to help. Also might be worth contacting Steam Support as well since the firmware itself comes from them (Valve). Good luck.
  9. @Beta_Tester even you would probably get better wireless performance with a better/faster cpu imho. Trouble with wireless comparisons is that they are often tainted by what games/apps/sims people are using because some utilize multi cores better than tohers. Probably no size fits all. However, in all cases the best/fastest cpu together with the best gpu and fast ram will always win ( together with good cooling and a good power supply). One thing I found with wireless is that it does not like overclocked gpu's and their associated software like afterburner.
  10. @troublemaker_na if you want to get the best out of wireless you need a better/faster cpu. In your case maybe something like a 7 3700x or 9 3900x.
  11. @Helyoos All VR headsets have a limited sweet spot around center and do get a little blurry as you go out to the edges. Just the nature of the Fresnel lenses. To help make sure your sweet spot is as large as possible adjust the IPD correctly. Also, spend a fair amount of time fine tuning your faceplate placement, including getting the distance slider as close to your eyes as is safely possible. If you are new to VR give yourself a little time to get used to things. When I started off in VR I initially was not very happy with the resolution and picture quality. I guess I thought it should look as good as my monitor. After a couple of months everything looked much better. So, hang in there.
  12. Well that kinda confirms to me that the french are only good at cooking and surrendering, lol! Just kidding btw.
  13. Good to hear. Thanks for letting us know mate.
  14. Good question. Sometimes the Public gets a little late fix but most times it seems to be what ever the previous beta was. Just in case I normally opt out of the beta and go back to the Public. Probably does not make much difference but I'm not sure? Might be better to stick with the beta option until Vive finally sorts out tracking issues imho. Personally, until I see a number of positive comments on any version, my OG Cosmos will remain in it's little box and I will continue to enjoy my Vive Pro and Rift cv1. Hopefully one day it will again see the light of day again, lol!
  15. Maybe try cutting a thin piece of dark foam or cloth and use some thin double-sided mounting tape to hold it on your headset. I'm sure you can figure out something, lol! Otherwise, contact Vive support and see if they can help.
  16. All I can do is suggest that this file is missing or corrupt. Google for how to replace it and see if this helps. https://www.google.com/search?q=sdl2.dll&oq=sdl2.dll&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  17. Maybe just do what it suggested you do?
  18. @jvicente1971 if you are able to return this for a refund I suggest you do this and buy a Vive Pro full kit. I have both and now my Cosmos is in storage. I may reinstall it again if inside out tracking problems are ever resolved.
  19. @asdfrewq Actually, I have the McLaren version. Same 2.0 as the full kit. Just comes with a bit of orange on things. When I bought it was the same price. I mainly got it because one of my buddies is a real McLaren fanboy and I just wanted to rub it in. Actually looks a bit gaudy imho, lol! You also might want to check out a few online Au shops. I actually bought mine from Scorptec (and I don't think they have anymore in stock) but I think there are also a couple others as well. You'll just need to hunt and peck a bit. Probably still safest to buy from the Vive store, but I don't really know if it makes any difference or not?
  20. @asdfrewq Just my fellow Aussie opinion but if I were you I would consider forking out $aud200 more and get the Vive Pro full kit w/2.0 base stations/controllers while they still have stock. I think it's a better headset and the oled screens look much better in darkish games/sims (better blacks/contrast). Since I got my Pro my poor old pre-ordered Cosmos has been stored away. I may reinstall it one day if inside-out tracking ever meets Rift S standards and probably put my wireless adapter on it. Anyway, your $'s so your choice. I'm sure the Elite would work well though.
  21. Ya, you have to luv Google Translate. It produces this; Hello @tonton I bounce on the post of @TomCgcmfc, because somewhere there for a little reason, I understand your frustration, I also somewhere I tell myself that for the price it is a little cow, and in addition me mine, i already have a few dead pixels, but I'm not making it a disease. I have not said anything until now, but there frankly, it is pulled on the rope, your assessments are perhaps (surely) justified but we all understood that you were disappointed, a good hearer ..... Sorry for our English-speaking friends, but I don't have the courage to translate ....... 22. So the Cosmos Link Box has the same Bluetooth as the Vive Pro Link Box?
  23. @Ors0 Ya, I found the same with getting my 2.0 base stations to go into sleep mode. Actually took a couple of resets to bed down ok. Seems fine ever since. I would not worry too much about the controller white light coming on after a good long (6-8 hr) charge with the supplied chargers. As long as they show 4 dots on the SteamVR void and seem to last a reasonable time (~6 hr use) they are probably working fine. I have noticed that after a long charge with the supplied usb chargers if I unplug them and plug them in again they often produce a white light, but not always. What I do now is charge them with my wireless adapter battery packs (or other similar usb power packs) and this works very well. When the controllers are fully charged the battery pack's power lights turn off which means they are no longer putting out any power. If I press the wireless battery pack button (to restart power delivery) the controller always goes white. This has satisfied my ocd and seems to work well. I don't really know but I think that the supplied usb chargers do not have a proper full charge circuit in order to have them stop charging like most external battery packs do. No real big deal imho.
  24. I have -2.5 with astigmatism but I've found that my good quality high index lens (= thinner/lighter) with rimless titanium frames (140x40mm) fit and work perfect under any VR headset, including Rift cv1, Cosmos, and Vive Pro. The main thing with glasses is to make sure you do not use strong bifocals. Fortunately I have transition lens (no sharp bifocal horizon) with a pretty weak 1.0 bifocal and this seems to work fine.
  25. There never has been a clear distinction made between the Cosmos Link Boxe and the Vive Pro Link Box. The only obvious difference is that the Cosmos LB is supplied by a slightly higher powered 12v2.5a PS vs the Pro's 12v1.5a. It's understood that this is because of the slightly higher power demands for the Cosmos. It is also not clear which link Box is included with the Cosmos Elite full kit. Quick questions; Does the original Cosmos Link Box have Bluetooth capability like the Vive Pro Link Box? Is the Link Box supplied with the Elite full kit (w/1.0 base stations/controllers) the same as the OG Cosmos or is it a Vive Pro Link Box? If you use the Elite faceplate with an OG Cosmos and 1.0 or 2.0 base stations/controllers will you be able to control device settings like base station power options using the Cosmos Link Box? Thanks.
