  1. I'm also in Australia and have been considering the Cosmos Elite faceplate for my OG (pre-ordered) Cosmos since I already have Vive 2.0 base stations/controllers that came with my Vive Pro full kit. This originally sold for aud$349 earlier this month and today I looked at it and it is now priced at aud$399! Neither of these come with any extras like VivePort subscriptions or free HLA. So, I'm not likely to jump in and buy one of these. I was kinda hoping that is would be much more sensibly priced, maybe with a very high discount for current OG Cosmos users. So for now my Cosmos will remain in the box awaiting better inside out tracking and I will just continue to use my Vive Pro and Oculus Rift cv1 for all my VR needs.
  2. Probably best to contact Vive support and see if they can resolve this. I'm sure they can imho.
  3. Probably because it seems to be the same thing. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/htc-vive-wireless-adapter/apd/492-bcog/gaming-gaming-accessories
  4. I don't know for sure but I think there is a code (maybe the same) you need to enter in SteamVR to activate HLA. Just google how to to enter game keys into Steam.
  5. You few (thankfully) French-only posters are the racist ones imho. Coming onto an English based forum and disregarding this seems to me to say that you are the racists. English races are inferior so you refuse to post in their language. To be honest, I could not care less. Post what and however you want.
  6. If you need a bit more bass go to your win10 sound settings control panel, select your Vive sound type, properties, enhancements, and check bass boost. Seems to help mine and I’m happy with my Pro headphones. Obviously never going to sound as good as a $2-300 gaming headset.
  7. Thanks for that mate. I think the Vive Pro is still the best PCVR headset out there. I don't imagine the OG Cosmos is going to get a similar award anytime soon, lol!
  8. Thanks for your honest assessment mate. The Vive Pro is becoming very scarce in many places, probably for a good reason. It's the best PCVR headset that Vive has ever made and probably the very best PCVR headset out there right now imho.
  9. Ok, thanks for letting me know. Kinda makes the Elite faceplate upgrade even less attractive. It's currently priced at aud$350. I finally got the info regarding HLA vs Infinity options with the full Elite bundle from Vive Support; Dear user, Thanks for reaching out. We do provide two options for Elite. One for HALF-LIFE+ VIVEPORT, another with VIVEPORT Infinity for user under 18. To proceed your issue, we do need your full information include bundle code on the blue card and SN. Once compensation is needed, we'd insert a code into your bundle code and send an auto-delivery email with instructions. Hope this message explain you well. End of reply***** ******************************************************** So, in my Aussie Vive store it says you get HLA + VivePort Infinity (does not say for how long, probably 4-6 months?) only with the full Elite bundle (aud$1,699) and the Elite headset-only (aud$1,099). HLA is currently aud$85 on the Steam store btw. Interesting that the Vive Pro headset-only is aud$150 less than Elite headset-only (aud$949 vs aud$1,099). The Pro headset-only comes with free Infinity (again, probably 4-6 mo?) and includes all cables and a proper Link Box w/BT so you can use the SteamVR to put your base stations into sleep mode. You can also use the Pro's front cameras for pass-though. Plus the Pro has very nice oled screens vs lcd on the Cosmos (which are still pretty good). If an aussie wanted to upgrade their current OG Vive setup. the Vive Pro headset-only would be the better option imho.
  10. All I really want to know is that if I buy an Elite faceplate for my OG Cosmos does it come with a free AHL steam code and/or additional VivePort Infinity, or both? Pretty simple question imho.
  11. Now that this has gone to a Vive ticket, which I did not ask for, all I get is; Dear user, Please provide the below information for us to double confirm on your issue Thanks! Redemption code that came with your VIVE bundle Order confirmation letter S/N
  12. Ya, the OG Cosmos inside out tracking still sucks and has not significantly improved for over the last 4-5 months of it 8 months product life imho. Too bad since the rest of the headset is very good. Mine also worked very well with the Vive wireless adapter. I bought mine pre-order btw, last time I ever do that, lol! I understand why you want to go to a Valve Index because they look very good. I might have gone that way too if Valve actually shipped these to Australia. Instead, I spent a heap more $'s and bought a Vive Pro full kit w/2.0 base stations/controllers. I also got the latest Etsy Gear VR lens mod (~$70, from etsy dot com). I gotta say that this was the best thing I ever did and I really wish that I bought this instead of my Cosmos. The Pro's oled screens look absolutely fantastic and I'm loving it with all my flight and racing sims. Much better blacks and contrast in darkish games/sims than the lcd screens on the Cosmos. Maybe a little less SDE (screen door effect) with the Cosmos though. Unfortunately, my poor little Cosmos is now back in it's box. I may look are reinstalling it later if Vive ever gets its inside out tracking and light tolerance up to Rift S standards and I'd probably run it wireless. Since I now have the Pro I'm not sure if I want to spend a lot more $'s on an Elite faceplate. I like the OG Cosmos controllers over the Vive controllers so I think I'll just wait and see if tracking issues ever get resolved. I also have a Rift cv1 w/2x sensors that I use together with my Vive Pro. Thanks to the Pro's link box on/off switch and the Oculus Tray Tool (OTT) switching options, it's very easy to go back and forth between these headsets. I mainly use my Pro (wired) with all my flight/racing sims and Google Earth VR. I mainly use my Rift cv1 for all my Oculus Store games and for any VivePort and Steam games that benefit from the Oculus touch controllers. For the most part the Vive controllers (most seem to call Wands) are ok imho. Plus they are very robust! My current dual PCVR headset setup is working great for me. It's nice to be able to use the best tool for the job. I kinda doubt that taking HTC to court is going to do much but I guess that's up to you. While, like many others, I've been disappointed with my OG Cosmos, I'm still willing to support them. Good luck whichever way you go mate and cheers.
  13. Does not look too bad to me. With my 2.0 base stations/controllers I get the odd bit of jittering depending on where/how I place them. Seems worse if I lay them down on the top of my desk. On rare occasions one controller will fly off into the distance and then come back later, lol! I do have a couple of small reflective areas in my PC room ; window w/blinds on my left, PC glass cover case front-right on my desk. In any game/sim this jittering does not seem to happen unless I lay one of my controllers down on the top of my desk so I have not really worried about this. I also put my stations into sleep mode when exiting SteamVR. Also, I found early on it's important to firmly mount these above head height, pointed downward. But you probably already know this. Also, check that your firmware on both stations, both controllers, and your headset is updated to the current version. If this is effecting tracking in your games I guess you need to contact Vive Support again and let them know. Good luck mate.
  14. Using all caps is considered very rude forum manners. Equivalent to yelling. But heh, you probably already know this and probably could care less, lol!
  15. So you can make an effort to translate my English comment to French but you cannot bother to provide an English translation to your posts. Really unbelievable imho. Sorry but from now on I will just ignore comments not posted in English.
  16. And still these french guys can not bother to translate, lol! They don't seem to understand that this is an english based forum. Ignorance or arrogance, maybe both?

  18. Is it true that with a new Elite you have the choice of 6 months Infinity subscription or HLA, but not both?
  19. Maybe try unpluging/plugging in the power cord to the link box itself. I have had mine get a little loose once. Also, you could try plugging in one of your base station power supplies to the link box itself and see if the green light comes on or not. Probably best to contact Vive support and ask them for help.
  20. You know that title (OhShape) is available with your VivePort Infinity subscription. Might be worth trying that version since it specifies Cosmos Controllers.
  21. Ya, I have a cheap wheel/pedals but mainly use either my xbox controller or joysticks for most sims. My favorite racing sim is assetto corsa on steam. Plays well in both vr and 2d.
  22. It would maybe give me some incentive to give it a go again, ha-ha!
  23. At the very least OG Cosmos owners like myself (pre-ordered) should be getting this as well imho.
