  1. I managed to get it to startup but that's all. I've ended up going for a refund from Steam. Maybe this will get to Viveport soon?
  2. Thanks for that mate. I may give DR 2.0 a go now on my Cosmos that it is on sale! Thanks, I think, lol!
  3. @oxygen4004, I hate to say but you seem to have nothing but problems. You are now up to 33 posts. None of these are either positive outcomes or contributions. Just saying......
  4. Mine does this on the very odd occasion I just need to turn the Link Box off, the on again and let it restart my Cosmos and controllers.
  5. I ordered the Cosmos Wireless kit today. Wish me luck, I'll probably need it, lol! Hopefully I'll get it later this week and I'll let you all know how I make out. Cheers mates.
  6. Could be a faulty usb cable and/or Link Box. Maybe contact Vive support and ask for some help. Maybe also check your device manager usb properties/power saving option are all disabled for all your usb ports. Gool luck sorting this out. I know it's very painful when things don't go right.
  7. If this is the case then maybe there currently is a problem with Vive servers and you may just need to wait until they fix this. I could not access Oculus servers for most of yesterday btw.
  8. Maybe Vive is having some server problems? Maybe try a little later. I had problems connecting to the Oculus servers for most of yesterday.
  9. It should now update to public (non-beta) 1.0.7.1 and this is a pretty nice update imho. Anyway, Im glad you are happy with your Cosmos.
  10. I found that this happens when one of the windows services, VIVEPORT Desktop Service is not running. You just need to go to your task manager services tab and scroll down to this, right click on it and select start. Then restart viveport and it should allow you to update this. I also found it was useful to drill down further from the services tab to it's service and change it properties to Auto. Then it seems to startup this service properly whenever I restart my PC. Anyway, here's the link I found (with very little googling) that helped me; https://service.viveport.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019736511-VIVEPORT-update-service-is-currently-unable-to-start
  11. Two Questions; 1) why would you want to do this? 2) why do you need to multi-post this request on unrelated threads? Honestly, if you think that downgrading is going to help I think you are mistaken. If you are having issues with the latest software you should contact Vive support and ask them for some help imho.
  12. @Subzer0 I'm also a long time Rift cv1 and Rift S user. Actually Oculus's first solid tracking improvements did not take place until release 1.39 (July 22, 2019) and final fixes in release 1.40 (Aug 19, 2019). You can view their release notes here; https://support.oculus.com/release-notes/
  13. @Phr00t I don't seem to have any 'Wandering' controller issues. I just finished testing this with one of my Flight sims (X Plane 11). I mainly use flight sticks but I do use the controllers to access menus and flick the odd switch. I set the controllers in a specific spot in my cockpit where they are visible and after flying around for ~1/2 hour they were still in exactly the same spots. I manually exited this sim and when I went into the Vive void the controllers showed up in the correct spots. Maybe your Wandering is caused by low battery levels on one or both controllers and/or poor/uneven lighting? Who knows? One thing I did notice today was that there is still some kind of lag problems when I startup the Vive Console. Twice today I had to reset the Link Box (just turned in off then on again). This always then connected fine after this restart. I'll try to remember to send a logfile to Vive support next time it happens. I'm on the latest beta version btw.
  14. Maybe go to your console menu/troubleshooting and send Vive support a log file.
  15. Maybe check your win10 device manager and make sure you do not have any power savings options selected on any of your usb ports.
  16. Ya, mines 67mm and I don't notice this popping up even when I shake my head around sideways back and forth pretty quickly. Maybe the endpoint bumpers on the ipd are effecting this? Who knows.
  17. Sorry mate but the only thing I said I could care less about is not being able to select Origin as your startup place. I guess for those that do want to do this the greyed out box (it's been greyed out since the first version btw) is something that needs fixing. The rest I obviously do care a lot about, including your current issues or I wouild not bother replying to you. I still do not see your need to jump into SteamVR dashboard but maybe you find this helpful. Once I'm in the startup Homeless Vive void I rarely feel the need to go into origin. When I do the animation does not seem to last all that long for me, maybe 10 seconds tops. Could be I have a slightly faster PC than you, who knows (i9 9900k oc @ 5Ghz, gtx1080ti, 32gb 3000 ram, 1tb ssd, 4tb hdd). I think that once you start going back/forth into SteamVR there is more potential for problems creeping in. But I cannot say for sure. I just try to avoid doing this. If I need to change SteamVR setting I seem to be able to do this fine by right clicking on the SteamVR overlay that initially pops up when I startup Vive Console. I also do not feel the need for a VR desktop since the nice thing about the cosmos is that I just need to flip up it's screen and use my PC screen. In fact I do this to select shortcuts to startup most of my flight and racing sims. I also do not understand why you get the Vivelense/Origin control tutorial after each update. I do not see this. Maybe there is a Setting item somewhere you need to deselect or something? I know you stated your tracking issues were observations, not bugs. I also am a heavy user (probably ~50% of my VR usage) of flight and racing sims like X Plane 11 and Assetto Corsa and perfect controller tracking is not really an issue with these. However, it's still very important to me for my other VR games. I tried a few archery, shotgun, fast rhythm , and slingshot games today and while the tracking was far from perfect I found that they were a lot more playable than with previous software. My observations are just observations as well and it's probably understandable that our views may differ so please don't take it as me being critical. I respect your observations and I expect you to do the same. Cheers mate.
  18. @T Sorry mate but I do not see any of these bugs. Maybe because I do not seem to need to use SteamVR home or it's dashboard anymore. I seem to be able to select all my Steam VR apps fine from Lense. Maybe go your SteamVR settings/general tab and deselect the startup in SteamVR home box. As far as the option to start in your origin home goes, I could care less. I prefer the Homeless startup and just use lense to select everything. I do go into Origin occasionally just to quickly quit an app and take a break. Also, I've never needed to re-do any tutorials after any of these software updates. I do seem to get prompted to update my Viveport software even though it still ends up at the same version. I'm not sure why you have to go though your tutorials all over again unless maybe you've moved to a different room or something. It may be worth creating some log files from your console menu and shoot them over to Vive support. As far as your tracking observations go I'm not sure that the transparent camera view is the best way to see this. Mainly because the passthrough camers auto-exposure can kick in a little depending on how even your room lighting is and I think that this may cause a little wobble. Still, even then they seem pretty stable to me. I find it best to check out within Origin. If you move then and keep them at least ~4-6 inches apart and no closer than ~6 inches to the front of your headset they seem to be pretty stable. Now, even when I move one right up to the headset it sticks there for a second but quickly snaps back when I move it outward again. Much better than previously when it would shoot out all over the place. Don't get me wrong, there is still lots of room for improvements though imho. Of course, like everything, if you look hard enough for a problem you will find one, lol!
  19. Just press the right controller's little Vive button to call up Lense. Then select the right setting button and if you scroll down you will see where you can adjust your height (+/-). This seems to work ok and once you set it it seems to stick until you want to change it. Some games/apps also have their own height and re-centre options. Still would be nice to have a quick one-button re-centre function for the Cosmos. I'm pretty sure that this is on their to-do list.
  20. @A-Jey I have not noticed this happening but I do find that the ipd calibrate popup is a little finicky to actually popup when I do want to adjust it. I agree that it may be better to have a separate calibrate ipd item within the Lense settings menu. Sort of like it is with my Oculus Rift cv1.
  21. Update, I tried this beta this morning under brighter conditions and everything worked pretty well. No Vive console start to ready lag and apps selected from the Lense menu all worked fine. Also, I now seem to be able to get controllers at least 6 inches away from the front of my headset without any jitters (closer and they snap to the headset). I did the draw lines thing in Origin and as long as I kept both controllers at least 6 inches in front of my headset I did not notice any controller's jumping around. Looks to me like we are ~90% there imho and I'm feeling a lot better regarding my decision to keep my Cosmos. Good job Vive engineers! Besides further tracking fixes I think we also need to have Vive and Developers get onboard the same train and fix the Cosmos controller compatibility issues.
  22. I understand why you have done this mate. I came close to doing the same. However, since the yesterday's beta update 1.07.1 improvements I'm very glad I've stuck with my Cosmos.
  23. Nice update. Controllers are much more stable and do not seem to bounce around much at all. Also a lot better in low light. I'll try brighter conditions tomorrow. I was actually able to play a few archery and slingshot games a lot better. I think we are ~90% there regarding tracking. Only minor problem I noticed was sometimes I needed to click on an app several times within the lense menu in order to get it to go to it's start window. Overall a nice trick and treat, lol! Thanks.
  24. @oxygen4004 I use a lot of flight and racing sims and I've found that in many cases the external usb controllers (yokes and wheels) conflict with both my Oculus Rift and Cosmos controllers. Maybe make sure that if you have these you disconnect them prior to using games that only require your Cosmos controllers.
