  1. Isn't the extension cables, I mean 15m !?
  2. This is really useful information, both to developers and to potential forthcoming buyers. I have Vive pro and am completely intending to purchase Vive pro 2 - after a few software updates that is!
  3. If you've got the pro2, think yourself lucky and just enjoy it. Ditch the pro.
  4. I think the headset is going to be amazing, doubt if reviews will debunk that.
  5. Support got back to me quickly, and after several fault finding attempts, they organised the return of my faulty base station for repair. They provided the address label and customs documents. A week and a half later on sending, it was repaired and returned. The cost of the repair was about half the cost of buying a new one - so can't complain. So now I have three working base stations; two in use and one (just returned from repair) ready to use if one goes faulty. I'm happy with the service I recieved.
  6. I may as well continue this conversation with myself. I contacted support and they sent me a document with a procedure on how to diagnose issues with a base station. I'll try it soon.
  7. No one replying? Am I having a conversation with myself?
  8. I purchased a new base station v1 and it worked perfectly. So obviously it was a faulty base station originally. I'm delighted to enjoy my VR again without grey screens and shaky motion. Now, I have a faulty base station outwith its warranty. I'd like to pay for a repair. Someone tell me how to go about this? It took 19 months for one of my base stations to go faulty. As these devices have moving parts, no doubt my other over 19-month-old base station will go faulty in due course. It would be nice to replace it straight away with a repaired one.
  9. Still no further forward with this. If I may say a bit more about the issue. When I face the direction of the 'faulty' base station, the screen continually goes from grey to normal to grey, with head movements. Also, the motion is a little off balance, like being drunk. When I look at the good base station everything is fine. Is this simply a faulty base station? I'd appreciate a confirmation.
  10. Noticed this happening all of a sudden, if you watch the attached video. When the array of LEDs go out, it causes the headset to 'grey out', more so if I'm directly looking at the faulty station. It usually happens after about 10 minutes after switching on. My other base station works perfectly. 20201229_153735_001.mp4
  11. Great, that's reassuring to be told this. I'll wait for the public release of the software.
  12. No one that reads on this forum owns a vive pro? Would be great to get feedback if your buttons work on current software states?
  13. I filmed the buttons working from January backup. I then restored my system back to current(today's) state with buttons not working. Saying this because I'll be contacting HTC for assistance, so they know it was me who posted this on this day.
  14. I've got an update on this. I restored a backup of my entire computer from January and guess what? All the buttons on my vive pro worked perfectly! Guess this proves it's a software issue. It would be helpful if people reading this who own a vive pro could check their sound control and mic buttons, confirming if they work or not. Thanks.
  15. The sound/volume buttons on my vive pro aren't working (on left earphone). The mic on/off switch on the right earphone has no effect either. I can adjust the sound levels through the vive pro using the settings on the computer but not on the headset. Anyone?
  16. I tried the vive in the shops, it was amazing, even with the SDE. I decided to purchase the vive pro. The SDE is certainly less prominent with this upgrade, giving more immersive looking graphics. But, yes, if you look for the SDE, you'll find it. Though it's certainly not "in your face" and impossible to ignore like with the vive. Rosieox, it seems a bizarre thing to say, that you don't care about improved graphics? Also, the vive pro is more than just a graphics resolution upgrade. It has other improvements over the basic model.
  17. Thanks for that information, that is reassuring.
  18. Hmmm, does this mean I should buy a spare cable for my vive pro now?
  19. Thanks for this. I know have the power management for base stations activated and it works great. A good weight off my shoulders, never having to worry about forgetting to switch off base stations again.
  20. I have this problem too, it happens probably 60% of the time when i first go into VR from steam. Through trial and error, I found an easy quick fix. I simply click on the sound settings on taskbar and click on sound tab. That usually fixes it. If not; in that menu, disable vive pro sound, then re-enable. No big deal... VR is cutting edge, I bought it expecting issues. Doesn't affect my enjoyment.
  21. Is anyone going to answer this question?
  22. You can't answer three simple questions? You've certainly not convinced me that my original advice is ill-informed.
