  1. This I assume means that the firmware on the consumer headsets (vive focus) will be updated to support sdk 3.x features?
  2. There are already broken features when using the consumer version. An example is the vive video application. Since it was updated for SDK 3x, the stereoscopy is completely gone now (same images per eye). when running it on a consumer version. Paying nearly £800 for a headset and for it to be "discontinued" in a short period of time is not on @Tony PH Lin
  3. I have recently recieved back my vive focus after an ebayer decided to return it as faulty (even though i tested it throughly and it works perfectly) I have some questions about the future of the device.. I have the chinese consumer model of the vive focus on the latest firmware. Are there any firmware updates planned for this device? If so, what additional functionality/optimisations are planned for it Secondly, I noticed there was an update to the vive video application recently, again i have issues with displaying 180 degree 4k videos in 3d (even if i select 180 side by side mode, they appear rendered correctly but only displayed as mono... moon video player and the non updated version of vive video plays them fine displaying them in 3D. Any possible reasons for this? I have mentioned that this was an issue with a previous vive video update too. Thirdly, the 60hz mode.. I know the vive focus displays at a fixed refresh rate (75hz). but devices such as the oculus go can switch between 60 and 72hz and a future update is planned for the oculus quest that will be able to do 60hz too. Is there anything in the pipeline for 60hz mode? (this would result in 60fps videos displaying silky smooth on the device)
  4. Ok. I recieved the item back from ebay. It worked perfectly and had none of the tracking issues that the buyer mentioned it had (I was right about user error/buyer dissatisfaction from the device). Issued refund today. Will not sell on ebay again i think. Any person can return an item by describing it as "faulty" when its not the case and totally powerless to do anything about it.. have to accept the return and give the refund unless willing to take the hit on credit rating and minus balance on paypal + debt collector galore etc. no thanks. Should get my paypal fee's back too, so overall even though i spent £11 on postage (sending it) and £4 on the return label, i should get £10 of fees back in paypal, which results me being £5 out of pocket...
  5. I have reminded the person to try it in another room away from reflections, darkness or other things that may cause issues this morning (After he submitted a refund/return request....) Will await to hear from him.. I am sure its user error and unlikely to be damage during transit as he did mention it worked for 30 minutes and then the problems occured.. and also that it works sometimes, and gives the errors as well, hence i assume its lighting condition related.
  6. I had sold my headset on ebay to someone and hard reset the device Today i recieved an email from the seller mentioning that it was working for half an hour, then started giving the "out of boundary" error mesage on the screen. He mentioned he removed the headset and put it back on, but it was occuring again... He even hard reset the device Is there any additional advise i can give him? I advised him to turn off boundary, but that is not really a fix if he wants to keep that two metre boundary
  7. Version of Vive Video app is 2.1.8. (This is the one that has the problem of displaying 3D 180 degree video as mono video. When reverting back to 2.1.7, all is fine and the video is displayed in 3D System version is 1.69.1405.3 Recently also got an update to the UI from 1.4.20 to 1.4.22, but no difference.
  8. Ok so, what worked before does not work properly now with the new update There was no issue with loading side by side 3d 180 degree content (the same video file i tried) on the older version. (it was displayed in 3D). New version displays in mono regardless of settings. I was querying whether or not there may be an issue with this due to having the consumer china version of the headset Thanks for the information in regards to not being able to fall back to 60hz mode for 60fps videos. Only standalone device that currently can do this is the oculus go where it falls back to 60hz in software where need be
  9. Video is side by side 4k 180 degree h264 When i mention no 3d, Its basically the same image per eye that is displayed which does not generate the 3d image (even though side by side and 3d 180 video is selected) I am using the latest firmware for the chinese consumer vive focus if that makes any difference which is System update 5.1 ROM version: 1.69.1405.3 Also in regards to the 60fps video playback? Any chance of detecting 60fps content and changing refresh rate of the display to match the framerate? The only device that currently does this is the oculus go. (Even the oculus quest does not do this - i recieved it today)
  10. There was an update to the vive focus video player app, but now 3d is completely disabled with this update. Any way to rectify this issue? Also as the vive focus runs at a fixed 75hz refresh rate, 60fps videos will look jerky regardless (Same issue with mirage solo too) this is due to frame rate mismatch and some judder occurs due to this Are there any plans for a 60hz mode (like on the oculus go) or to implement frame blending to reduce the jitter?
  11. Tried what you had mentioned. (e.g turn off both headset and controller. then to turn on controller, wave in a 8 shape 10 times, then to wait till controller turns off.. then to turn on headset and connect controller. This has fixed the issue (for me at least). no drift anymore
  12. I am currently on 1.69.1405.1 of the firmware (system 5.0). It was mentioned that there was a 1.91 update previously in this thread. Would there be a possibility of updating to this version manually (as currently it states that 1.69 is the latest when i attempt a system update from within the device) What newer features and fixes does 1.91 have over 1.69?
  13. Rom version is 1.69.1405.1 and the version shown on the frontend UI is 1.4.12 The update to system version 5.0 some time ago was not the issue. Its only when the frontend UI system updated to 1.4.12 (some time in december) when the drifting issues started.
  14. Same issue here. This has happened since the last UI update in December. Have to constantly re-calibrate....
