  1. Thank you for your very honest answer. That is however, very disappointing, as I and others have been waiting for over 4 months for this to be added into the Unity SDK. In earlier posts it was mentioned that it will come in the March 2019 update. So how long now do we have to wait before we can see and enjoy this new feature of instant preview? And yes, I would gladly test it out for you when you have a pre-release (Beta).
  2. To be clear now: I thought instant preview would be press play in Unity and see the result in the HMD Is that what it should do? Or is it just the tracking from the focus into unity? As mentioned in this post very much, we need a press play in unity and view the result in the focus without having to build each time.
  3. 1. I deleted the waveVR from unity 2. I then added your patch to Unity and reimported waveVR sdk 3.0.2 3. I could still not install simulator from Unity, so I installed it manually with adb 4. simulator is running, just a yellow window 5. pressing play in Unity does nothing in the focus 6. in Unity under XR settings, Virtual reallity SDK is called Split(missing from build) So why is instant preview not working? A step by step instruction on how to get this working would be very helpful. Thannk you.
  4. Hi, what should I do with the patch? should I just place it in Unity?
  5. Thank you, I look forward to your reply and hope we get the instant preview working. I just wanted to mention, that after updating the focus to the latest version it still says in about device that it is using SDK version 2.1.8 and not 3.0.2 but the device says it is on the actual version.
  6. I cannot get instant preview simulator working! I have tried just about every version of Unity but I just get errors and Unity hangs. I even have to kill Unity with the task manager. Clicking on install simulator APK gives me done in the console but nothing happens on the focus. The focus is connected and recognised by windows. I would have expected with the new focus firmware that you had already added simulator to the standard software. I have been patient waiting for this very important functionality and do hope we get this solved. As said in previous posts, this is going to be a game changer in development for anybody developing in VR. Here is a new slogan in Unity for you: Press Play – Save your day! Please help us get it working. Reply times here are just too slow and Oculus quest release is getting closer. But I suspect they will not have an instant preview function like focus, if it works. Thank you. Btw. Do not just concentrate now on commercial but also community. As the focus is actually a very good consumer device if promoted in the right way. If live preview would work, then it will also be an invaluable development device for everyone regardless for what you develop. For VR / AR to be fun you need some things. Easy to play with like Lego bricks (Playmaker) Adaptability and extendibility (factorability ) Plug and Play and not Plug and Pray. Click to Play and not click and pray. It has to feel like magic. Focus with fingers not just hands Join Stadia AR color pass through cameras Button to leave headset active not just sensor Playmaker integration (for designers and not just programmers) You can actually leave out 6dof controllers if fingers could work on the focus.
  7. As the title describes, Which version of Unity is best for new WaveVR SDK 3.0.2 March18_2019 ? and please tell us how to use the new instant preview simulator in Unity. I have already updated the focus to the latest update but unity crashes when simulator is enabled. You can explain that in the other thread below How do I use the WaveVR simulator? https://community.viveport.com/t5/Vive-Wave-SDK/How-do-I-use-the-WaveVR-simulator/td-p/23066/page/3?__woopraid=yq1XGUFG1HNS SDK 3.0.2 March 18_2019 https://developer.vive.com/resources/knowledgebase/wave-sdk/
  8. Ok, I see now that the new SDK is available since March 18th. Thanks for letting us know about that. Now the question is how do we use the Simulator? I see no difference. Is the press play in unity editor and then view in the vive focus function in this SDK as promissed in earlier posts?
  9. So, we are now about in the middle of March. Is the new update still coming this month? Thank you.
  10. Any ETA, of this simulator magic coming soon? That would be a great slogan and a wonderful revolution in VR Development…... Like this: Coming soon! - To a Focus near you. I would love to hear that soon from you guys and girls.
  11. That sounds wonderful. When will this magic happen? Maybe as a Christmas present for all of us? Thank you. I am really looking forward to this functionality
  12. PUSH! Are you guys and girls getting anywhere further with a unity press play and stream to vive solution? not forgeting, that the controller should also work when simulating from Unity to Vive Focus. Can you just imagine how easy and plesent development would be having a feature like that?
  13. From the above link I posted I tried out his solution and it works. There is lag in the focus but I am sure you could improve on that maybe with something like NatCam Pro. It would be great to also get the data from the controller directly into Unity. This would eventually mean being able to test a scene completely from the Unity Editor directly to the Vive Focus without building and also being able to use the controller.. So now I know it can work I will stay with the Vive Focus and look forward to your positive further developments in this area. I personally think that if you want developers to make more VR content, then this is the way to go, so that development is much, much faster indeed. Thanks from Chris.
  14. That would be fantastic Take a look at what this guy did He also has the github download in this post https://skarredghost.com/2018/05/11/experimenting-with-unity-instant-remote-preview-on-the-vive-focus/
  15. Ok, everything is clear now for me. We obiously cannot have unity display the editor inside the hmd. That would have been perfect. Could this feature live play from unity editor directly to hmd come some day? or are we just going to have to build the apk to see the results in the hmd?
