Just tested with a Focus 3 in exactly the same location with exactly the same setup and had no noticeable drops. I did notice that when set to 200Mbps bitrate, the XR Elite uses an additional 10-20Mbps vs the Focus 3.

Hello, Trying to use Vive Streaming Hub over Wi-Fi with my new XR Elite and I'm experiencing massive frameloss. If I set the configuration to dynamic bitrate it ends up dropping to 20 Mbps and still looses frames. I've upgraded the Vive Streaming app on the headset to the latest version via USB. This was not an issue with my Focus 3 on exactly the same setup (PC & router). When using the Focus 3 the experience was rock solid (even at 200 Mbps fixed bitrate). Wi-Fi signal is excellent and there is no other heavy use going on. PC is connected via a 1Gbps network card to the router. Hope @C.T. or someone can help. Thanks.

Brilliant. I had read through that article before and I hadn't appreciated that you need to apply quite a bit of pressure to get the click. It might be worth getting the article updated to emphasise that. Now that's sorted, I'll have a proper go after work...if I can wait that long.

Hello, I received my new headset today and have been checking it out. Unfortunately I am finding it difficult to wear the headset as the face gasket keeps on coming loose (from the bottom). I don't have a particularly prominent forehead but the angle that I need to position the battery cradle for a clear image causes the issues. I'd need a different face gasket which has more depth below the eyes, which should stop it working loose. Is there such an item yet @C.T.? I have logged this issue with support.

It's a bit difficult to give any advice on this without more information! Are all PCs connected into the switch? Can you verify that all the ports are running at 2.5Gb (especially the AP). What switch is it? What sort of configuration is on the switch (STP, jumbo frames, flow control etc). Is there any sort of QOS/traffic management on the switch or AP? Can you verify that all the headsets are actually connected via Wi-Fi 5/6 frequencies? Bear in mind that 2.5 Gb on copper connections is in reality much less.

Yes I had noticed similar issues. You can completely power off the controllers by holding down the menu/Vive buttons for a few seconds until they vibrate.

So I finally sold my Flow. Conceptually it had great potential and use cases, but has been let down by poor software and a complete lack of engagement by the product team. Hopefully the XR Elite has more success.

Had another look and I couldn't see anything to do with Viveport. Are you on the Focus 3 beta programme?

I think the depth sensor is only used for AR/XR content. The XR Elite headset uses exactly the same tracking as the Focus 3, so needs some degree of light.

Not seeing that on mine. Was it in the main launcher?

Not sure whether it was an issue before this release, but I've noticed that the bitrate settings reset when restarting VBS - is this a known issue? Whatever I set them to, they always revert to the default of 100 Mbps!!

@C.T. Just for information, running in ultra mode used about 50 - 85% GPU processing on my Radeon RX 6800XT - even on the most graphically challenging tasks (played HL:Alex and other similar games). Difference in quality is definitely noticeable. Great improvement!

Not sure whether this is just a fault on my headset, but the app library doesn't remember the sort order selected between reboots - it always reverts to A-Z. Is this a bug or feature @C.T.?

It's should just appear once it is installed. Try rebooting the headset.

VBS is not supported on the Focus Plus. The Focus Plus comes with Viveport Streaming which integrates the SteamVR and Viveport libraries directly into the Focus Plus library. Have you tried using this?

Its £64 in the UK with an additional 3.4% cashback from Topcashback, so not sure why its cheaper here? Yes, I got so sick of using a phone as the controller I got one.

Yeah was thinking this as well. I've just picked up a Focus 3 for a massively reduced price and really wish the headset was targeted to power gamers as well as enterprise. If the official pricing was below the £1k mark, I'm sure it'd gain some traction. BTW it is a fabulous headset in every way - far superior to my Cosmos.

Hi Caesar - just wondering if the VBS windows app can be made to start minimised (i.e. in the system tray) and therefore only open fully once a Focus 3 connects? It's how the other Vive apps behave - and looks better for multiuser PCs? Also wondering what the limits are with 5GHz streaming. Are we technically able to go above 200 Mbps?
