  1. , my experience was a bit more disappointing, but I fully agree with what you say. Probably in this way they would be able to regain some trust.
  2. I think we should give more visibility to this issue that afflicts many users, because it would be right to know it before buying the VIVE. I feel that this flaw is present in most of the headset sold and that it is only a matter of time for the prooblema to came out, otherwise it would not explain the behavior of the HTC assistance, which seems to want to hold over more than solve.
  3. When I cover the sensor the problem seems to vanish, but the feeling is that the tracking is slightly less stable (other sensors may also be involved when the temperature increases further). It's winter now where I live, so to bring out the problem I have to artificially raise the ambient temperature, but I'm sure that in 2 or 3 months it will become very difficult for me to use this headset. Anyway, in my opinion, covering the sensor can be seen as a temporary solution and a definitive solution should come from the HTC technical staff. It seems very strange that after almost a year there is still no solution to the problem...
  4. I sent mine to repair center 2 times for the flashing grey screen problem. The first time it was sent me back after a couple of weeks with a simple "re-flash ROM image" and obviously the problem was still present. The second time was over a month and a half and the repair report still indicated "Re-Flash ROM image". Obviously I have repeatedly explained in detail to the assistance what the problem was and how to detect it. I am very disappointed. I will reserve to post a more detailed report in the future if someone will be interested...
  5. Hello , thanks for the test. So it is confirmed that the problem is somehow related to heat, but I'm a bit puzzled that it will appear almost immediately when you look at the ceiling; probably the issue also has a software component to consider. I hope this fact could provide some additional indication to htc technical staff ...
  6. Hi , it seems to me that you live in in Italy like me and these days the temperatures have dropped. Can you try again with the power bar? Just to figure out whether it can be a power or temperature problem..
  7. I don't use surge protector with base station, so for my setup this can not be the cause of the problem and today I also have been able to use the VIVE for about 1 and a half hours without issues, but I think it's due to the cooler temperatures of these days. I'm still convinced that the flashing gray screen problem is somehow related to the heat...
  8. I confirm that cooling the HMD with a fan temporarily stops the problem but at the moment the most effective way to prevent the flashing gray screen from appearing is to cover one of the sensors. In my case the one at the bottom right, next to the camera.
  9. Thanks for the advice, but I think yours is a different kind of problem. I don't own the Thrustmaster HOTAS 4, I use almost always the controllers and the flashing gray screen problem is a constant, but also when I use the joypad and I leave the controllers off, the behavior is exactly the same.
  10. @jagibson @Synthesis Hello HTC staff, is there any news? Have you been able to recreate the issue? Is there any hope that it can be permanently resolved by sending the HMD to the assistance?
