  1. I installed the new 2020 driver from AMD Radeon. After that, I had no sound in the vive.Previously there was an audio device with "Vive".Now only "USB Audio Device". That was an alternative before, but there is no sound on "USB Audio Device". @Synthesis @VibrantNebula
  2. Hello. I've already completely uninstalled and reinstalled SteamVR. I'm in the summit house, but as soon as I start a game like Rec Room, The Lab, etc., it loads, and then the picture goes black, and it pops up on the monitor: "A critical error has occurred with STeamVR. I have reinstalled SteamVR, still. But I can easily start external games. For example, "Beat Saber Old Build", which was recently available for free download. Windows itself has just been installed fresh for a few days, virtually nothing else than the VR stuff, Opera and 7z.
  3. Price for a new device from the dealer including postage is $142. And used by the dealer from $31 to $95 (Ebay auction). Are there any prices for the spare parts? For example, the "motherboard". It is not rocket science, I can replace any part. This is not a job that requires a professional qualification ;-). Or will HTC use soldering iron, ir rework station etc.? Are there known errors? Buttons and touchpad is not broken, and battery is not bad. I do not assume that all sensors fail at the same time. In addition, there seems to be a known problem with the click of the touchpad on the right side. It's bad on both controllers. Why? The problem has many users. There are even YouTube videos. And always the right side.
  4. That does not help. I was able to use it again shortly, then the problem occurred again. What kind of "repair" is it? Are there known defects? Please name the possible defects and the repair. I am not interested in an expensive repair.
  5. Hello. Yesterday, the controller virtually (not really) fell to the virtual ground during use. Then he did not work anymore. There was no impact before, I had it in my hand. I switched it off and on, but it was gone. I tried to reconnect it, but he says I have to disable one of the two registered controllers first. I turn off the controller and the pairing window appears. I start the pairing process (system and menu button). Then it flashes slowly (!) Blue, but the controller is not paired. With the other controller, it quickly flashes blue, and it is paired immediately. What can I do. Do I have to buy a new controller? Or is the defect a known problem?

  7. Hello. This (tranlated to englisch) is the error message after starting a vr game in the summit house. First the picture freezes, then it turns black. The error message appears. Glasses, controllers and base icons are still green (also frozen).
  8. Hello. How many watts does the Lighthouse base really need? The power supply has 12V and 2.5A, that would be 30W. But the power supply and the base together supposedly only need 6W in operation (measured with a simple energy cost meter). If the power supply does not have 100% efficiency (it probably does not), the LH base needs less than 6 watts. Is this value wrong? Why is the power supply 2.5A sized? The power supply of the Connect Box has only 1.5A. Why two different power supplies? Are "0.5A" (6W) not enough for the LH base? I want to know how long I can operate such a base on a rechargeable battery. And how far may the input voltage vary? Does the voltage have to be exactly 12V? What about 10.8V to 12.6V from a lithium-ion battery pack. Is 12.6V too high? 10.8V is too low (I assume there is no risk to test it)? At 2.5A, the battery would last for 8 hours. If it were not 30W, but 6W, the battery would last 40h. More duration, or smaller battery.
  9. Is it absolutely impossible with this onboard chips (like HD 530)? Actually I am between old (good offer, sold) and "new" card (used from Ebay etc.). And my actual primary game "Rec Room" do not need much power.
  10. Hello. Is it impopssible to use a HTC Vive at a ASUS M5A99X EVO Mainboard Onbboard USB? With BIOS 1708: "Enhance compatibility with some USB devices." ( https://www.asus.com/de/Motherboards/M5A99X_EVO/HelpDesk_BIOS/ ) Are there known incompatibilities? I had tried with USB2 und USB3 onboard. I think, two different chipsets (or not)? If this is impossible, are there any suggestions for a cheap USB controller card (some €/$ from China by ebay?), that is compatible?
  11. I meant only cards. No motherboard onboard USB. I am looking for a USB card for a motherboard that has problems with Vive. For example, this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-port-USB-3-0-PCI-Express-Card-PC-card-computer-controller-hub-PCIe-adapter/272658354789
  12. Hello. If I want to use a battery as a power source of the base stations (mobile and semi-mobile temporary use), 12.6V to 10.8V are OK? 1.5A is not a problem, batteries provide so much more power than power supplies. Suggestions for cheap battery packs on Amazon, Ebay etc.? Maybe battery packs for certain devices that you can "misuse"? Batteries for certain devices (computer technology, tools ...) may be cheaper than universal battery packs. Example for a universal pack:
