  1. Try connected the linkbox adapter to the HMD and see if that powers it. If not, it's the adapter. If yes, it's probably the linkbox. Did you buy from first party HTC on Amazon or second hand? Thank you, -Jack S
  2. Hi Long Phan, Thank you for reaching out to us. That's an unusual issue and based on your description is probably not related to the Vive per se, but since Vive does demand a great deal of system resources, it could be stressing the limits of your PC. Does this happen with any non VR games or other resource intensive applications? I would definitely check and make sure your system is in healthy condition, free from dust and properly cooled. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date, check for malware and make sure you have enough hard drive space available still. If you're still having issues after that, let us know. Thank you, -Jack S
  3. I sent you a PM. We'll take care of this. Thank you, -Jack S
  4. Could you possibly test the card on another PC? I'd like to rule out the actual card being damaged or nonfunctional if possible so we don't spend a lot of time chasing down false leads. Thank you, -Jack S
  5. Are we talking about downloading or just getting them to start when you want to play? If the latter, what drive/partition are you storing the game files? Thank you, -Jack S
  6. You only need HDMI with the original Vive. However, that laptop has a GTX 1050 Ti GPU which is going to struggle. You probably want something like a 1060 or 1070 at least. Thank you, -Jack S
  7. The base station has a failing rotor. Contact support and set up an RMA for repair. Www.vive.com/us/support/contactus Thank you, -Jack S
  8. If you're still having this issue, please report your system specs. Thank you, -Jack S
  9. Since those are HTC controllers, Valve wouldn't be able to assist you with that. Please send me a PM and I'll give you instructions/options for next steps. Thank you, -Jack S
  10. Just to clarify, you tried to change button mapping and that didn't work? That sounds like it might just be easier to have it sent in to be reflashed. We can set that up if you'd like. Thank you, -Jack S
  11. Sounds like something isn't fully connected. Check the cables, replug everything and try again. If that doesn't work, bypass the linkbox. Thank you, -Jack S
  12. I see. I didn't realize you were using wireless based on your post. I've got a solution that may work for you. Just to check though, you are online and you're whitelisting the wireless application, yes? You're not using an offline version of SteamVR? Thank you, -Jack S
  13. There's been a few issues with tickets in the past couple of weeks not showing up correctly in the tracker. Can you PM me the RMA number? I'll take a look at it. Thank you, -Jack S
  14. Make sure you're installing as an administrator and disable your firewall/security temporarily just in case. Are you getting a specific error? Thank you, -Jack S
  15. My guess is that there's a corrupted file on the headset. You'll want to send it in for repair. It probably needs to be wiped and flashed. Thank you, -Jack S
  16. Check your cables. Make sure you disconnect and reconnect everything. (Including on the headset.) Bypass your linkbox if that doesn't work. Your symptoms are indicative of lack of power being supplied to the HMD. Thank you, -Jack S
  17. Hi there. Have you installed this yet? https://dl.vive.com/oobe/VIVEPRO/VIVE_Pro_Driver_USB3_Windows7.zip Thank you, -Jack S
  18. Contact www.vive.com/us/support/contactus and tell them you need a linkbox replaced. If you're still under warranty it should be a pretty simple operation. Thank you, -Jack S
  19. One thing you can do to make sure it's the 3-in-1 is take the shorter HDMI and USB cables and connect them between the PC and the HMD (no linkbox) and see if they show up. You can also use any standard USB or HDMI cables for this test. If it shows up, the 3-in-1 was the problem all along. Thank you, -Jack S
  20. Hi Oldman, Are you having similar issues? Thank you, -Jack S
  21. Thank you both, that's very detailed and useful information. I appreciate your help on this. -Jack S
  22. Hi Garymatt, Unfortunately, there are no "out-of-box" cases in which a Vive or Vive Pro HMD could be used without base stations. It simply isn't designed to be used without them, even for such purposes as viewing 'flat' games or videos, the headset is tracked to allow the user to move their head (and body) around without creating a feeling of nausea from the conflicting stimulii. Having a screen strapped to your face that doesn't change no matter how you turn your head, sit or stand is extremely disorienting and uncomfortable for almost everyone. It would be pretty much unusuable for 99% of the population. I hope that helps answer your query. Thank you, -Jack S
  23. Let's unpair everything first and reconnect it. In order to connect and isolate multiple controllers, the system will pair the controllers with a unique identifier and will link this information to the tracking system. When one or both controllers are having pairing issues, releasing these settings will allow you to pair both controllers without interfering registries. On the PC, browse to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\tools\lighthouse\bin\win32 Run exe Type unpairall in the console window and then hit enter. Once finished, the console window will display two identifiers as confirmation. Close the console and restart SteamVR. Attempt to pair the controllers again. Thanks, -Jack S
  24. That's very interesting. What is the model of motherboards you're using? We may be able to test this and attempt to reproduce it. Thank you, -Jack S
