  1. Good points on the video. HTC's biggest mistakes ever were overpriced products, and rumors of bad customer support. Apart from that having owned OG Vive and Vive Pro (currently Index and Quest), The Vive Pro it's still one of the best all round HMD on the market to date. Having a few trade offs with Index, but it seems in terms of hardware quality it lasts longer than Index for sure. Vive Cosmos was really a mystery to me in terms of it's place on the market being the most expensive inside-out tracked HMD. I really wish one of those top VR manufacturers finally figured out a proper inside out where occlusion never exists (maybe a camera placed on a bump or some sort of plastic antenna - like pointing down 45 degrees), but unfortunately so far it seems that Oculus have been the closest one to provide a decent inside out tracking yet far from perfect.
  2. , No you can't. So 1.0 stations can track OG Vive and Vive Pro , while 2.0 can track only Vive Pro set up. You can't mix 1.0 with 2.0 base stations.
  3. , 1.0 base stations can only operate up to 2 per set up. You can do a set up with 3 up to 16 only with 2.0 base stations.
  4. , You better hear what official support has to say about it. I am no expert but my two cents here is that CPU and RAM might be holding you back. If you look at the wireless page on the bottom there's a minimum requirements and where it says i5-4th generation. Trust me this thing is taxing on CPU not just GPU. Also you have more than enough RAM but at slow speed ... If you have a friend with better specs just go try it there. "also keep in mind that so many people with i7 8700 with 1080ti are having same issues as me" - do not trust anyone on the web" usually I am not getting into argument unless I know what I am talking. Issues sure , lots of issues are resolved by software fixes and lots of issues are caused by the mixture of software that may affect the hardware ie. GPU drivers , Steam updates , even Vive updates ... my point is that I guarantee for a couple of friends with wireless and Vive Pro (which is more demanding) have a more than enough to play competitive shooter in VR. So, best thing to do first is to go to a friend with better CPU and faster RAM and see how it goes.
  5. , Just out of curiosity - PC specs ? As a part of my favorite VR game community in it's discord server I know couple of players with Vive Pro + wireless and they have no issues. Also keep in mind that these very same players are in competitive league of that game so they would hardly accept such flaws. I'm just trying to say that there might be a solution to your problems, as the only known issues regarding the wireless is the incompatibility with AMD CPU's as far as I'm aware of
  6. , Well it looks like you're already selling 2.0 base stations in Japan .... so the question is .... EU launch date ? :)
  7. , If you're sayin all's working well now that means they're not 2.0 as they don't work with OG Vive system. You might be talking about the newer version of 1.0 which has a different array of LEDs.
  8. , Hi . Are you trying to say that you ordered replacement base station for your 1.0 bundle , but you actually got shipped 2.0 instead ? Cause if that's the case it's really weird as lots of Vive Pro owners would like to buy that but not able due to they're not officially available right now outside of the Vive Pro Full Kit ???????
  9. , First of all that has nothing to do with audio drivers, since the audio doesn't go in the soundcard of the PC but it goes via DP/HDMI cable in the GPU . OP said he tried reinstalling his soundcard drivers, which is why there's no effect at all. It was a software issue from HTC which they fixed shortly after release. That's why he needs to update the drivers of the HMD directly from SteamVR, also latest GPU drivers recommended. I rarely give advices but when I do it's because I had the same issues and I know for sure what was the problem and how to fix it.
  10. , Have you tied to install the latest driver updates for the headset in steamVR? This was a known issue after official release of Vive Pro but they fixed it quickly. Since then I don't have any problems at all with my audio. Just make sure you have installed all HMD updates within SteamVR.
  11. AC unit solved the problem for me. I was getting one anyway cause I can't stand the heat. Keep your rooms cool and you won't be having this problem. Or you can send it for repair and wait for a long time.
  12. I'm doing it for the exact same reason as you . I don't want to end up with expired warranty and haven't sorted this things out. When the new generation VR comes I want to be able to sell my VR in good condition :) I didn't had the time to play on it the last couple of months anyway ...
  13. Whatever this issue may be, my question now is how can I get my headset fixed or replaced by HTC ? What are the steps ?
  14. , I have tried with sync cable a week or so after this problem appeared but it doen't solve anything. And actually makes no sense, after 4 months suddenly to be a problem. I live in a house, so I'm away of busy roads :) . I'm quite sure that there is something to do with overheating. As many of the others stated one of the first thing that I've notice was that the front of the HMD was hot... After I set up my A/C and kept the temperature at 23 C I have manage to play an hour and a half or two without any greyout. Since than I haven't had any time to test further more since I've been very busy lately. And even if keeping my room temp at 23 C is solving the greyout I don't see that as a solution. :)
  15. , Hi. Thank you for your consideration, but I have used my Vive for 3-4 months like that, without any single problem. Actually the base station were not well aligned. Since I startet to experience this problem at the beginning I was reading some forums and there was one video which stated that unaligned stations could cause this problem, so I now they are perfectly in line, but that's not the problem. As I said, there is nothing that I've changed regarding my room decoration/furnitures/computer/screen or anything at all. It's just started after 3-4 months of playing and I had sessions for like 4-5 hours no problem at all.

  17. I am sorry that I still can't find the time to post here , but I've been busy a lot lately so ... I will try to find time these days to post my statements and info that we were all asked to give. After I bought and set an AC in my room and keep the temperature at 23 C , I haven't got any issues, but I've only had the time to play twice and longest was not more than 3 hours. Anyway, so far I guess it's obvious that the reason causing this problem is hardware issue, and therefore the only reasonable solution I see is that we all get an exchange with new HMD's .
  18. , In a matter of fact I did get my AC like a week ago, but honestly I didn't had the time nor the mood to unbox the Vive and give it a try, Since I have a lot of work lately and reading somewhere that the AC had solved the problem for some time only .... you get where I'm going. But soon I will try it as well. , Tomorrow I will provide you with all the information you need.
  19. , Well... it's a mistery , cause I don't even use wifi ... I'm hooked up to my stationary PC with LAN cable ???? And USB drivers suddenly became an issue ? after 3-4 months of use ? Plus I bet we are all on different MOBO's ... or at least We can't be all with same manufacturer. ? I don't know what to think anymore
  20. I highly doubt that. As most of us hasn't change anything before the greyouts started... If it were for a software... they should have been much much more people complaining having this issue ... No one of us is an expert, and there might be a lot of things we don't know, but logically everything leads to hardware issue.
  21. , 5 months for real ? I thought that we all had this issue started at beginning - mid march. That's why I was leaning more to be a software issue. But now ... with your statement I'm betting more to be hardware. I hope we hear soon from HTC.
  22. I could send you my Vive to run tests on it if that could help. Feel free to ask :)
  23. Hello Stephen, We are patient, most of us... Well quite frankly of course I miss my VR sessions for the last few weeks, but I'm not a kid anymore and I'll live with it. As of other members here having this issue, might have shown a bit impatience, I guess we have to forgive them. :) I'm trying to imagine If I had this peace of tech back in the days when I was a kid-teenager... spent quite a money on equipment (PC hardware) and the Vive ... I have to admit I would have gone crazy by now. But I guess that's some sort of appreciation of your product. On the other hand keeping silent about this threat here also have something to do with this impatience. I understand that when there's nothing new on your side there is not much to say as well. Question is: Did you manage to recreate the problem on some of your devices that you might have in hand ? If not , I would be a willing volunteer to send you my Vive so you could run tests on it. I have big confidence in you as organisation and I will have to wait anyway before we find the solution so ... If that could help solve this problem quickly I will send it immediately. Also "play area" and "surroundings" as a cause of this issue logically should be put on a side since a lot of us have played within the same enviroment and play area for months (me personally 6 months) without having any issues. But you have your tech team there so... I'll leave that to you. Have a nice day ! :)
  24. , Really ? **bleep** I thought it was because of the temperature ... When I saw 2 of the customers here who have tried with AC to cool down the room, and stating that their problem was gone... I was convinced that the problem is found. I guess now we're back...
  25. I am also getting an air condition in 2-3 days so I will do the same tests, but obviously , the temperature is the causing factor. After I get my AC i will share the test results.
