Hi @Fangh

You can refer the steps for factory reset and then see the menu of enter bootloader (A 2D screen)

1.) Make sure that the Focus is powered off.

2.) Hold the volume up/down keys at the same time and at the same time press the power button.

3.) You should see a bootup menu.

4.) Press the volume buttons to cycle through the menu (go to Reboot to Download mode).

5.) Use the power key to confirm your selection.

6.) Inside the headset you should see an option for "Factory Reset".

7.) Select that option, by using the volume keys.

8.) Press power key to confirm.

9.) If successful you should see the Vive logo and a percentage counter. Within 30-60 seconds you will be taken to setup screen with Chinese text and an English VO called Vive Dimensions.

Hi @VRC

After checking internally, Factory Reset is enabled only on Developer Kit, not consumer device.

May I know where do you receive your device?

Do you apply DK from our developer website? Or do you purchase from China market?

In addition, do you mean you never see our Launcher and always black screen after spaceship?

What's happen if you just reboot the device?

Have you got the device running normally?

Can you remember what do you do before crash? FOTA? Or...

It's weird that we haven't received similar issues so more info. are helpful for clarification.

Thanks.

Hi @Tony PH Lin,

Our device comes from Techdata, a French distributor.
It's not a developer kit.
What we did :
1) We put a kiosk mode archive in a SD Card, the apk in the kiosk archive was without the wave sdk (it was the first attempt, we didn't know we needed it).
2) We put the SD card in the headset
3) The headset booted
4) After the spaceship, black screen. No Vive interface available and pressing the power button did not help.

Because the only way to update the kiosk mode is to factory reset and we do not have any access to the android interface, we are stuck.

Is there any way to factory reset with a computer?

Hi @Tony PH Lin,

I'm @Fangh colleague.

Unfortunately after a "Reboot to download mode" the headset restarts and returns to the bootup menu without any changes.

You will find attached a photo of the interface.

Thanks,

Corentin.

+1 same problem. We can't do anything. And we don't know how this problem rised. When device is on it shows "native android screen" and we can't press any button.
Also we used kiosk mode before problem. Here two screenshots on russian. There writen "Select 'KioskMode' as main application". And two buttons 'Only now' and 'Always' .
We use ViveFocus for enterprise and now already dead 4 devices. We should find solution asap!

@Fangh @VRC @HugoPolymorph @Danila24ru
We're working on reproducing this issue and work out viable solution ASAP.

At the meantime, is it possible that you can check if any of your issue devices' usb debugging function is enable for getting more detail log to speed up our analysis?

Please try using this command to get the log from issue device  adb logcat -b main -v time > logcat.txt

Also, the detail version info can get with adb shell getprop > prop.txt

It would be a big help to push the solution for this issue, thank you!

@Ken Lee

The usb debugging function is not enabled on my Vive Focus so adb won't show any device.
